Mission Statement: To educate students who will be responsible, caring citizens prepared for the 21st century.
ESLR’s: JFKHS students will be Responsible citizens, Problem solvers, Effective communicators, and Technologically literate.
Beginning Tuesday, October 14, all students not in full uniform must sign in at the Office of Student Support Services with a note from their parents explaining why the student is out of uniform. Students without parent notes must still sign-in and may be subject to disciplinary action. Also, as a reminder, students cannot bring hats to school. Hats will be confiscated when seen being used or not.
All Pregnant Students: Please report to the Nursing Office for follow-up.
Please make sure you pickup your Honor Roll certificates in A-100 during lunch and break. Last day to pickup certificates is Thursday, February 26, 2009.
Students are you having a hard time in school? Would you like to meet and work with other students with similar issues from around the island? The 19th Annual YFY (Youth For Youth) Conference will be held April 25th – 27th. See Mr. Ballares in B200 for more information/registration.
School Counselors Week Feb 9th-13th: This week every student will visit his and her counselor for a credit check and to register for classes for next year. The counselors are also here for you to discuss any problems of any kind at school or at home. Use this time to get to know your counselors better. They are always glad to see you!

Valentines Day is just around the corner. Are you still unsure of what to get your loved one? JFK Class of 2009 has a solution. We will be selling carnations in pink, red, and white for only $3.00. Please see any JFK Senior Class Officer or Representative in Room B-110 to purchase a Carnation.
Valentines Day is coming! Close-Up Club is now accepting pre-orders for the Balloon/Teddy Bear Grams. Samples and prices are available in Room C-211. You may also personalize your grams, but hurry this offer is only while supplies last!
Sweethearts Ball 2009 Royal Court: If you are interested in running for Royal Court, please see Jacqueline Tomeldan or Mrs. Richards in Room A-209 to pickup an application and contract. Please support the Class of 2K11.
Class of 2010 is sponsoring a carwash on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Compadres Mall parking lot from 9am-5pm. Pre-sold tickets are $5.00 and by donation the day of. So come on by and support the Class of 2010.
Islanders the Class of 2010 are selling T-shirts on Room G-110: White t-shirts for $10.00, and also brochures for Jostens class rings. So stop by and support the Class of 2010.
Attention Freshmen: Are you struggling with your schoolwork? Do you need help with homework? We are here to help you. We welcome you to attend the Close-Up Club Tutoring Sessions during lunch every Monday and Tuesday in Room C-211. Starting February.

JFKHS Sophomore Class presents: “Midnight Serenade” 2K11 is hosting this years Sweethearts Ball at the Le Patio, Marriot Hotel. Tickets are $25 for dinner (6-11PM) and $10 after dinner (9-11pm). Spend your Valentines Evening with us, Saturday, February 14, 2009. Buy your tickets from 2K11 officers or Mrs. Richards in Room A209. All are welcome.

The 2009 Read-a-thon: “Feed the Need to Read” is coming soon (Feb. 14 – Feb. 21). Please encourage students to participate. There will be different incentives for students who answer trivia questions. You could help to advertise literacy by giving extra credit and forwarding requests for prizes to me. If you have any other ideas, please drop me a note in my box. Thanks for supporting literacy! Mrs. Christine Borja.

Any deposits for Administrative and NAF funds can only be done during lunch (215pm-300pm) at the Business Office. After 300pm we will not be accepting any deposits. NO DEPOSITS shall interfere with instruction time.
The Superintendent is seeking volunteers to be members planning committee of the Pacific Educational Conference Committee that is schedule in July and to be held on Guam. Teachers, Principals and Assistant Principals are urged to submit their names to assist. Please submit your name to Mrs. Mandell in A-100.
In accordance with the Governor’s Circular 2006-033 by utilizing designated employees for energy conservation and savings: Reports continue to come in regarding classroom lights and air conditioning running after school hours. Although minimal exterior lighting after working hours is acceptable to help deter vandalism and theft, after hours internal office/classroom lighting and running air conditioners is NOT TOLERABLE, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
